September’s un- employment figures were not only disappointing — they were grim. For the 21st straight month, Americans lost jobs. Fifteen million are out of work — 5 million for more than six months.
But as the Washington Times asserts, “America’s jobless crisis is much worse than the 9.8 percent unemployment rate.”
The U.S. economy actually lost 785,000 jobs in September, which should have pushed the 9.7 percent August unemployment figure far higher than just 0.1 percent to 9.8 percent.
What kept the increase to 0.1 percent?
Over 800,000 people quit the labor force in September. They packed it in. They stopped looking for work. That is six times the number who quit looking in August and five times the monthly average of those who have given up the search for work in the year since Lehman Brothers died.
Adding to the near 15 million unemployed those who have given up looking for work and those who have taken low-paying part-time jobs, the Times estimates the true employment rate at 17 percent. We used to call that a depression.
Yet, with nearly 25 million Americans unemployed, or no longer looking for work, or in low-wage part-time jobs, 8.5 million U.S. jobs are believed to be held by illegal aliens who broke into the country or overstayed their visas.
Why is this not a matter of national outrage?
For every job opening in the country, there are six unemployed Americans. With this surplus of idle labor and shortage of jobs, the men who do the hiring are in the catbird’s seat. They can cut wages in the knowledge that desperate Americans will have to accept what is offered.
Comes the rote response: Immigrants and illegal aliens only take jobs Americans do not want and will not do. But, last month, a front-page article in USA Today demolished that argument.
When a 2006 raid on six Swift & Co. meatpacking plants rounded up 1,200 illegal aliens, 10 percent of the workforce, Swift was up and running at full staff within months. How? Native-born Americans in the hundreds came out and took the jobs.
Says Vanderbilt University Professor Carol Swain, “Whenever there’s an immigration raid, you find white, black and legal immigrant labor lining up to do these jobs Americans will supposedly not do.”
At one of the Swift plants out West, a workforce that had been 90 percent Hispanic, legal and illegal, before the raids is now a mixture of white Americans and Hispanic-Americans. Illegal aliens lost the jobs, and American citizens got them.
A House of Raeford Farms plant in North Carolina that was more than 80 percent Hispanic before a federal investigation now has a workforce 70 percent African-American.
Illegal aliens gravitate to jobs in construction, farming, fishing and forestry. Yet native-born Americans outnumber immigrants three to one in construction and two to one in farming, fishing and forestry, according to Steve Camarota of the Center for Immigration Studies. Illegals are thus taking jobs Americans not only will do, but Americans are doing.
The crackdown on businesses that hire illegals that has only just begun is not only enforcing federal law, but ending the exploitation of illegal aliens and opening up jobs for Americans — black, white, Asian and Hispanic alike.
Since the 1960s, there has been a bitter battle — breaking down along ideological and racial, ethnic and gender lines — over affirmative action, quotas, preferential hiring, promotions and admissions to college and graduate schools, and contract set-asides.
Conservatives have insisted that if discrimination is wrong, it is not made right by making white males the victims and women and minorities the beneficiaries. Liberals argue that to advance economic equality and ethnic diversity, and compensate for past injustices, temporary discrimination against white males is an unfortunate necessity.
White fireman like Frank Ricci must be denied promotions they have won in fair competition, as African-Americans were not among those who passed the tests.
As votes on referenda in California, Washington and Michigan have shown, the American people reject affirmative action and preferences in hiring, promotions and admissions that are based on race, ethnicity or gender.
Americans believe no discrimination should mean no discrimination.
But there is a form of discrimination, a form of preferential treatment, which left and right, it would seem, may both support. It is based not on color or creed, but on nationality and citizenship.
If jobs are available in the United States, Americans should go to the front of the line to get them, ahead of illegal aliens. And as there are six Americans out of work for every job opening, it is time to call a moratorium on immigration. Why are we bringing into the United States over a million legal immigrants a year to compete for jobs against 15 million to 25 million Americans who can’t find work or full-time jobs to take care of their families?
Who is America for — if not for Americans first?

One illegal worker is one too many!
A collegue advertised for a part-time legal assistant at $20 per hour without benefits. The response was overwhelming. A Princeton law school grad (summa cum laude) said she'd interview on five hours notice. Many attorneys asked to be hired. Half of the applicants had Batchelors' degrees–though the job had no educational prerequisites.
The workforce is drowning. Globalists running the nation have distain for hard-working Americans.
We suffered through the Great Depression as a unified people. Today, we're a Tower of Babel–with white Americans shouldering the weight of the world. Other than government transfer payments–what holds the nation together now?
These are increasingly frightening times. Will people rise and fight for their heritage? No other nation serves foreigners first, and its own citizens last. With top law grads scrapping for modest wages, what happens to ordinary workers?

The doors are covertly opening again to another illegal immigration invasion. We now discerned that religious organizations are trying to use their congregations as a fulcrum to apply president Obama's Immigration reform package. It's in my mind that just people of the Baptist faith like myself, who are ardent worshipers, but whoever live in the stark veracity of real-time. Many are aware of the dangers of leniency for lawbreakers, that will be even more magnified by not only those already here, but the destitute restless people waiting for the–AMNESTY–bell to clang? It’s utterly irrational to expect that millions more will not tear across our borders? Yes! They will greatly benefit, but what about the 15 million jobless Americans?
There is no possible way Citizens and legal residents can compete in this deep recession, against the poor of other countries? An avalanche of the young and old that will devour billions of more dollars from government handouts, to not only clothe shelter and feed them, but the illegal laborers wages partly transferred abroad? Churchgoers may think they are doing god's work, but what they are actually doing is stealing the bread from American children's table, low income families lifeline of paying for gas to get them to work, pay for an apartment? The magnet of course is the inevitable abhorrent businesses, who will solicit for minimum wage illegal aliens to build on their profits. THIS IS WHY WE MUST DEMAND NATIONWIDE E-VERIFY! A COMMITMENT FROM THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO MAKE IT MANDATORY FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS A JOB, TO BE VETTED. THAT NOBODY SHOULD BE EXEMPT. PENALTIES FOR NOT UTILIZING E-VERIFY, SHOULD BE EXEMPLARY? WE ARE TALKING ABOUT AMERICAN LIVES IN TURMOIL, BECAUSE JOBS ARE BEING STOLEN BY ILLEGAL WORKERS.Its operation will draw to the surface illegal labor who should not be here. We should inform ICE of anybody hiring illegal immigrants or you have suspicion of underpaid workers. My church pastor on the outskirts of Indianapolis has been playing on the congregation’s sensitivities, but the good man was unable to answer the torrent of questions?
Least of all myself, who explained how the Council of Foreign Relations has been planning for years, to incorporate Mexico and Canada with ourselves, to import an unceasing flow of cheap labor? Or that the ACLU was founded by a communist or that groups like the Southern Poverty league was substantially financed by the business community, to undermine the reputations of anti-illegal immigrant groups. That even the radical ethnic caucuses such as La Raza was furnished by grants from our own government or corporate concerns. That in actual fact–WE–are paying the price tag as taxpayers for our own downfall? Unless a large majority of the population yells down the phone-lines at 202-224-3121 this nation will become a balkanized society?
This country was built on the strength of one language, one Judeo-Christian culture. Multicultural societies usually collapse, as in the Middle East. Even in the developed countries of Europe, their is a tenuous unsettled calm that will erupt finally over both legal and illegal immigration. Even America cannot support millions more people in their vehicles on eroding highways and surface streets. Our infrastructure has been blatantly ignored for years, bridges in urgent disrepair. We remain mostly alone in fighting foreign wars and other countries are telling us, that the dollar is unlikely to be the main trading currency. Then we have programmed political idiots we elected telling us, we need to pass a path to citizenship for the 20 million plus unfortunate peasant who illegally crossed our border.

Most definately Pat! We own a general contracting business, or at least today we do. The way the illegal mexican invaders are taking jobs we may not be in business much longer! The state requires us to pay corporate taxes, have all the licenses, liability, bonds, workers compensation….. the illegal mexican invaders dont' have all this overhead, they operate totally like they came to our country, ILLEGALLY! Then they live 10-15 people in one house, so their rent is maybe $100.00/month, they don't have a medical premium, they just use our tax dollar paid emergency rooms, which makes their overhead that much less. So, they cut our throats in biding jobs, while all the time WE the TAXPAYERS are supporting them!!! We care them medically (EVEN TO BIRTH THEIR ANCHOR BABIES TO BRING MORE OF THEM INTO THE COUNTRY THAT WAY SO WE CAN CONTINUE TO THEN SUPPORT THE KIDS)!! We need to change THAT also, no more if you are born here you are a citizen, NO if the parents are here illegally, the brats are illegal TOO!!!
CONTINUED- then we allow our schools to be over run by those kids we are teaching on our dime, this makes our schools over crowded and OUR OWN KIDS are no longer getting the teacher attention they would be getting AND school programs have to be cut so we can pay for the mexicans to get an education so they can grow up and learn even better ways to take over our country. I say we send a bill to the mexican government every month for the millions of dollars it costs me and every American to have them in our county. THE ONLY SOLUTION IS DEPORTATION!!! It is the ONLY solution Americans are at this point going to accept. The people here illegally are not hard to find. It doesn't take rocket science. Just pull up in front of any home improvement store, they are the ones loitering on the sidewalk(which is also illegal, but only for us legal citizens who follow and have to abid by the RULE OF LAW). Pat, are you still back with the Republicans? Where are the principles you showed us in 2000? How can you associate yourself with MCain, Powell, Snowe, et al? In my estimation, about 30% of Americans are unemployable, due to a failing educational system, dysfunctional families, and the growth of the counterculture. Television and video games created a generation with the attention span of a kitten. A minority of high school graduates are at 12th grade level. The American work ethic, except in a few minorites, has collapsed in parallel with the educational system and economy. We can continue to survive importing Chinese and Indian students to populate our science and engineering graduate schools and develop the technology of the future. Perhaps those unemployable, uneducable, borderline sociopathic people can find work as federal, state and local sinecure cubicle workers.
I flew United Airlines out of Colorado Springs recently. My ticket required changing. There was only one person behind the desk, and her job was to tag bags. The line was huge. What was I going to do?
Not to worry. Next to the computer check-in screen was a phone. It rang, and someone at a call center in India helped me check in. That's right. United Air Lines was using someone at a call desk in India to check me in at Colorado Springs.
This is bigger and deeper than a few Hispanics crossing the border. This is officially sanctioned use of offshore labor by American corporations. And, they get away with it.

The Atlanta Journal assigned most of their job listings to an outside internet employment center about 9 months ago,. Prior to that time period just about every other newspaper employment ad for administrative positions had the words "must speak spanish or must be bi-lingual". It was amazing that these companies expected Americans to learn another language in order to get an office position which they held for many years before this "requirement" took place. So they are sending our jobs overseas and were requring workers here to master a new language? Unreal!
