Third Rail Subjects

Aug 25, 2012 by David A.Thorpe

As usual,Pat is the only one to mention off-limit subjects and organizations. For example Head Start. Its 47 years old and has 200,000 employees.Look at their budget.Other examples are:Earned Income Tax Credit,Child Tax Credit,Hud,WIC,Medicaid,School Breakfast & Lunch Programs,SNAP,TANF,and PELL Grants. The list and budgets,go on and on.
Whats fair about almost half of the taxpayers (and more than half of the population, when considering the entire family) paying no income taxes at all.
Does 15% of an income over 100 million result in a higher tax payment than 30% of 50 thousand?
I thought FAIR was when 4 people by contributing $5.00 each for a pizza each received 2 pieces each of a $20 dollar pie consisting of 8 pieces.
The day may come when we are each issued a name tag with a code classification indicating to a sales clerk what we are to charged for our purchase, or at least the sales tax charged, based on our adjusted income.
There was a time in America when you had to work for what you wanted or received. Wasn't that ethic what made America the greatest Country in the World?

Thanks

After years and years of reading your books I am convinced that you have shown more insight and historical information than anyone I can think of.. I just wish you and your ideas could be spread to more people who are,in my opinion, not very well informed..Many thanks for what you do......

Thanks Pat for you most recent article "A Grand Old Party in panic"
I agree. I'm almost to the point of not voting this Nov. How can I vote for someone with no backbone and that is wishy washy?

Thanks Again.

Influential

Aug 23, 2012 by Canaan

Pat, you are a conservative who can influence and persuade liberals, which is the real reason \'they\' wanted you off of MSNBC -- \'they\' don\'t want a liberal audience to hear you.

Pat, you are right that America has lost many of the attributes of its greatest years. But one of those attributes of greatness was the nature of Supreme Court appointments: Ike appointed Warren, Brennan, Nixon appointed Burger, Blackmun. Regardless of how you feel about specific rulings, our apex of power was also an era where Republican Presidents appointed judges who liberals admire and agree with. Burger-Brennan coincide with our apex; Scalia-Thomas coincide with our downfall.

Are you the only person in America who knows what is going on with our political system? it seems that way. Why don't our rulers know what is going on? With your permission I would like to send copies of pages 247,248,& 249 from your book "DAY OF RECKONING" to our Washington DC Representatives from our state. I hope if the Republicans win the White House they will hire you for Secretary of State.

Bravo for having the courage to tell it like it is! Common sense is a rare commodity in the political arena today.

Paul Ryan on the ticket

Mitt has is certainly going for broke by tapping Ryan. One could hardly be more Conservative. But in reading Ryans take on Economics, he is advocating Trickle Down economics which we both know doesnt work. The logic is flawed - "Lower taxes on the Rich, (the Doers), and they will invest anc create jobs"
Well, no one "creates" jobs for the sake of creating jobs. Jobs are created to serve increasing Demand. Our problem is Demand. Increase Demand and you will increase jobs
Why we have low demand is not being addressed!!

Could This Be Happening Here?

Dear Mr. Buchanan,
I am 84 years old and have seen many candidates run for the Presidency. I would add to your comments on Hannity that this will be the first time I will have to vote in what is shaping up to be a third world election race against our Constitution!

It is not only despicable and disgusting, it is totally repugnant to me. I am as fearful as you that Americans could put this upstart back in our house!

I have lived under Socialism. It is not pretty.

God bless your efforts.

Sincerely,
Peter Michael Carr

Mr. Buchanan,

You have been an honest, sincere and reflective voice in global politics for half-a-century and I just wanted to take the time to thank you for your contribution. You have given us a myriad of perspectives and have always been an independent thinker in a time when party-line talking points have become the norm in the United States. You are someone I trust, someone I feel has integrity and as a young man I just wanted to take the opportunity and thank you for your tremendous contributions in politics, journalism, and political science. No one will ever be able to label you, a true compliment to what a true political, objective and fair-minded political intellectual should be.

Thank You For Being Real

Mr. Buchanan,
I just want to thank you for having the courage to tell the real truth no matter how much the left tries to destroy you. You have always stood up for America, and Americans of all races and ethnicities. Even so, the left tries to paint you as a hate monger when anyone who listens to you or read what you write knows better. I know you are not anti black, anti hispanic, or anti jewish. The only thing I can say that you are anti illegal immigration. More Americans need to read your words, and not try to read something between the lines that isn\'t there. Keep fighting the fair fight.

Just read your note to Obama. That was right on the money. Thank you for being there, although I think we are heading for disaster regardless of what is done. It took 100 years for them to destroy everything and it will take as long for us to get back to where we were and even at that I doubt the outcome. Take care my friend.

I Finally Get It

State: NH •
Country: USA

Dear Mr. Buchanan,
Many years ago, when I was a typical teenager and my father was busy working on one of your presidential campaigns, he and I would fight over you and your politics. I was as leftist a liberal as any teenager always is and thought you (and my Dad) were nuts. But I've grown up and embraced my Catholic faith and finally, I get what you (and my Dad) were saying all along. Now I look forward to your syndicated column (our state NH newspaper is wise enough to carry it)and I give your words real thought. I appreciate your insights keenly and wish we could all turn back the clock and have you run for President once more. This time you would easily have my vote. Thank you for sharing your wisdom and love for this country with all of us, even those late to the party!
Sincerely,
Dana Laviano

Neo-conned into War

City: Park Ridge •

Dear Mr. Buchanan:

The first thought of my morning was"does Mitt Romney have any real knowledge of history?" Why would he go over to Israel and give them permission for a pre emptive strike? Votes in Florida obviously. Thankfully ,your piece outlining the logic of his Israeli policy. The voters are irrelevant. But I am going to try harder not to be in this election.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Laura Klose

Thank you. The truth does indeed set us free.

Mr. Buchanan,
I have read and listened to you for many years and have always found you to be a very wise man. I read your article today regarding the GOP and couldn\'t agree more. In fact, I would go even further to say that the GOP truly began dying when George H.W. Bush took office and has been fading away since. Unfortunately, I also believe that America is dead. America today is nothing like the America in which I was born or learned about in history classes.
Please keep up the good work.

You hit another homerun on this one, Pat Sounds alot like Ron Paul. However, watch out for the MIC, they make Billions on war and those eternal wars chew up alot of military hardware that needs to be replaced. Yep, like Ron, you and this article will go into the MS media freezer. But, God love you, Pat!

Your Little Error

Jul 24, 2012 by Teresa Powers

In your article \'Obama\'s America...\', you credited Marconi with the radio when it was Nikola Tesla - Supreme Court granted the patent to Tesla in 1943. Edison did not invent the incandescent bulb - it was Joseph Swanson of England. Edison & Westinghouse were ruthless pulling all kinds of nasty deeds to steal Tesla or anyone else\'s inventions.

Just a minor correction to that article as I think you are a remarkable writer and spot on with your thoughts.
All the best
