WebNote: Since 1995, Buchanan.org is frequently listed as a “hate site” and/or “pornographic” on web filtering software programs such as those in public libraries, government offices and businesses. Even e-mail software automatically filters our messages into spam folders. Despite years of letters, calls, and emails to numerous companies I have never succeeded in correcting this problem. Although Google Web Search lists our site first – once Pat’s full name is typed in the search box - Google News refuses to list Buchanan.org as a source for Pat’s columns.
Google Suggest is a useful little time saver that pulls up possible search terms as you type into the main Google query box. So why won’t it suggest that anyone might be searching for conservative commentator and former presidential hopeful Pat Buchanan?
Typing in the first few letters of Pat Buchanan’s name “Pat Bu” brings on a half dozen suggestions of far more obscure people, as Steve Sailer discovered. If you push it a bit further, including more letters of Pat Buchanan’s name, Google Suggest just stops making suggestions.
We tested this a few different ways. If you’re signed in to your Google Account and have History enabled, suggestions are influenced by other searches you’ve done. For our part, it didn’t matter whether we signed in or not: Google wouldn’t suggest Pat Buchanan.
So what’s going on here? Google couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. It only has an answering machine attached to its press relations line and it didn’t respond to an email asking about it.
Google says it tries to filter out suggestions that include “pornographic terms, dirty words, and hate and violence terms.” Of course, doing so involves making judgments about what counts as pornography, dirty words, or hate terms. Is “Pat Buchanan” a hate term in Google eyes?
Here’s a video put together by my brother Tim Carney demonstrating the Google Suggest anti-Buchanan phenomenon. (Full disclosure: I worked for Pat Buchanan’s presidential campaign in 1996.)

Does Human Events “edit” certain comments?
I always noticed this. Use Microsoft Bing!!! Pat comes up and he’s first. Who cares about Google anymore…
i just checked google and i got pat buchanan after putting in pat b. i guess your phone calls paid off. of course they’ll deny it ever happened.
Initially Google suggest did reference Pat Buchanan when his name was partially spelled and this was followed by the number of search requests. For example, if you typed “Pat B”, “Pat Buchanan” sorted to the top based on the number of previous searches and it was by far the most popular search starting with Pat B. However, mysteriously the name Pat Buchanan was dropped from the Algorithm. Google’s development team that supports Google Suggest is based in Haifa – I’ll let you connect the dots.
Haifa ? Can you provide a link for more info on this?

Of course Google hates PJB!……It’s owned by Zionist.
Pat and buchanan.org should be proud to be listed by Google as a “hate sight” and “pornographer.” Americans can go one better by calling Google just “the enemy.”
After reading the above I did the following.
On the Google entry box on the top of my Safari browser I typed Patrick J. Buchanan and the number 1 item I get is the Buchanan.org site. Then Wikipedia on Buchanan, next is references to MSNBC, then conservative articles and various pictures of Mr. Buchanan from over the last 25 years.
Then I went to my iGoogle and entered it under Google Search and Im feeling lucky. And I got the same results.
What are you people talking about?
