a note to Pat Buchanan!
Note: This page is for general comments about Pat and his work. Please do not post questions or opinions on specific articles, issues or events. Try to be concise as lengthy comments will not be included, nor will any note written in ALL CAPS. Others may be edited for spelling, etc. Thank you!
I believe that Obama wants a war with Iran because he is under the belief that a sitting president during war time always gets re-elected.
Something for you to consider
PAT: I've recently contacted Ron Paul asking him to consider you as a running mate. I know both of you share many of the same beliefs. If he does, please give it serious consideration,as our country needs both of you.
Its a time for patriots in government NOT self-serving politicians. Thank you,
The Unnecessary War
Really enjoying your book! Reading it in tandem with Niall Ferguson's War of the World is ILLUMINATING. I see now that the book, 1919 (excellent), did not quite frame the evil that was done in Paris by vindictive victors.
Note from Whitey
After reading A BRIEF for Whitey at work, my husband told a like minded co-worker to check it out. A few days later there was a copy of the article left on the breakroom table. There is now an investigation going on where the company is looking to terminate an employee for racism due to complaints from 2 black employee's. They are interviewing each WHITE employee in an effort to find out who is responsible for such a racist action. My husband was asked if he had read the article and he told them yes then he was told he should not be reading anything written on your website. Now he is in danger of losing his job for being white and READING your article, he did not leave it on the table. I just wonder if the esteemed Rev Jessie Jackson had written a mirrow article and it showed up on the breakroom table would the company be interviewing each black employee to find out who put it there and threaten them with their jobs? I don't think so, after all they have the freedom to read, and share their opinions without the repercussion of being accused of racism.
America Needs Your Voice!
My sister and I are news junkies and big fans of you, your beliefs, and your succinct way of stating your thoughts. We lament your departure from MSNBC and have been wondering why we've seen no mention or discussion of it on TV or by columnists. Why? We supported you for president and truly wish you would have been elected. We trust you will find a new venue, like Mr. Huckabee did, soon. America needs your voice!
Having just read your "Suicide" book, I'd like to thank you for the insight you provide in countering so many misguided positions that are dominate in our political arena today. It is inspiring that you are willing to speak out with such clarity on issues such as diversity, secularism, our national debt crisis, and the looming war with Iran. Your commitment to speak out on these controversial issues is crucial in bringing out the truth to the people, who are treated as ignorant sheep by the established media. May your good work give us the courage to protect our freedom!
Where is Pat Buchanan
Pat, my husband and I used to look forward to your input on Morning Joe. You were the only one of the show that made any sense in your comments and never waivered from your beliefs. The show is not the same without you. Joe and his crew change their minds on issues every few seconds. We need people who are not afraid to speak the truth. We want you back on tv whether its MSNBC, CNN OR FOX!!!!!
Love you, Pat
Pat, When I read columns by G. Will, W. Safire, I. Kristol and you in the early 1970's it was a lifeline to sanity. I've followed you since. You have courage of conviction. I disagree with you on Religion & Protectionism and, in this article, the use of "wait on" - that's what a waitress does. ("Can it be that Californians must now wait on the U.S. Supreme Court . . .") I am sick to my stomach at MSNBC's shunning you.
we need you
sir i am 73 yrs. of age, a life long democrat. we need you more than ever, please do not let them silence you. i am a liberal, but american first always. thank you
3rd time's a death knell
Hey Pat, looks like the end of America. I had always thought that if it had been Divine Providence that this nation was to be truly great and free that the south would have won the War of Northern Aggression. Fast forward 100 plus years to the destruction done to our country by rotten administration after rotten administration and America was given a chance to come out of the haze and elect a real patriot in PJB and again it just wasn't to be. Being a member of the Buchanan Brigades I lost a great amount of hope after that. Now after two more progressively horrific presidencies it seemed America had maybe one last chance to repent of her evil and ignorant ways and vote for Ron Paul but sadly we are witnessing the total collapse into idiocy of a once great people. All the cards were stacked against us but we had a chance and apparently it just wasn't meant to be. The Almighty knows you and many others have fought the good fight but America has succumbed to her diseases, both internal and external. Thanks for all you've done and tried to do.
Kudos on the Latest Book
I am halfway through "Suicide of a Superpower," and just can't get through it fast enough. Everything you say in it is true. If MSNBC let you go for writing what you did or see you as racist, they should be ashamed of themselves, not only for what they did to you, but for bringing down the field of journalism and this country, with their ridiculous actions and twisted thinking. I have a great-niece, and I am truly frightened for her future, because I know she will not live in the America, I grew up with and love.
"Who wants war with Iran"
Major kudos for your unwavering attachment to the facts in your article, "Who wants war with Iran?" It's hard not to notice the supreme elegance you show in separating your voice from that of the conservative party in an instance where a higher standard of truth seems to demand it. It was humbling to read, and a reminder of the importance of staying true to ourselves.
Dear Mr Buchanan, I gave each of our two college student children a copy of your book \"Suicide of a Superpower\" as a Christmas present. I am disappointed with Comcast/Universal/MSNBC censorship and have contacted each company and the FCC to protest censorship. I\'m joining the Buchanan Brigades and won\'t watch \"Morning Joe\" anymore as it was the last (after tuning out Andrea Mitchell) MSNBC program worth my time. I will switch to VZ FIOS if you are not reinstated. Guess next the mainstream media will be holding book burnings.
Hi Mr. B, Just finished your book: Churchill, Hitler, and the unnecessary war. What a remarkable work. Very well researched and extremely interesting. As an Englishman I have long suspected that dear Winston was not the great leader as projected in the myths - certainly he was pretty useless (it would seem) at diplomacy! It's also interesting that your book has got quite a few people on this side of the pond re-evaluating the whole war. I note that one of my favourite political commentators in the Daily Mail, Peter Hitchens, has also read your book and agrees whole heartedly with your analysis. Another of my fav commentators Dr. Richard North has also just published a book in a similar vein about the battle of Britain, called "The Many Not The Few: The Stolen History of the Battle of Britain", in which he too dispels a few myths. I'm about to start Death of the West, and Suicide of a superpower will be next. Keep them coming!
What can I do?
First, let me thank you for all that you have done to try and save both the West and the United States. In 100 years, I am sure that the history books will say that you, Mr. Buchanan, were one of the only true Republicans fighting to save our country.
Second I want to ask, what can I do to help save my country (or at least keep some vestige of it alive)?
Fantastic Informative Book
Suicide of a Superpower is a fantastic, informative, scary book. I fear for the lives of my granddaughters and what they have to face. My America is dying and your book proved it to me. What happened? I didn't see it coming.
Find your views very interesting much of the time and have missed you on MSNBC. haven\'t agreed with you on a lot of issues in the past but find myself agreeing with a lot of things in your recent books, especially Suicide Of A Superpower. had the opportunity to run against you in 2000 when you won the Reform Party nomination. I\'m sure you don\'t remember me, I was one of the also-rans who never made the primary ballot. I know I never wanted to speak right after you. John Hagelin was a pretty fair speaker but when he had to follow you at the Indiana convention he stumbled badly. You were a hard act to follow. Wish there was someway you could get a lot more exposure on your most recent book, especially where you tell us how to rebuild manufacturing in America and cut down the trade deficit, I know your comments have gotten you in trouble sometimes, and sometimes rightly so, but I do miss your commentary although I don;t always agree with it. Hope you find a way to get that done. I know I mention it to people I have political discussions on Facebook with every chance I get.
Thank you for the history lesson!
Thank you for the history lesson---I got more from the 1st track on the 1st CD of "Day of Reckoning" than in school---and how to understand "FREE" trade. Miss you on The Morning Joe and will write to them! Now to pray, read, write, teach my children and hope that we can turn the tide!
Hey How are you Pat.. My names Jimmy one of your younger supporters who follows the same mind set with almost everything you say. I\'m 20 years old. Half German/Italian kid going to school working full time not taking a hand out, and I just got to tell you that its depressing what has happened to my generation. Your book Suicide of a Superpower really hits home to me. Our nation is getting destroyed. My dream is to go back to simpler times I like to call it the Andy Griffith days, when life was simpler, there was more morals, kids could walk around and nobody worried about them getting kidnapped or hurt. Your music was better, the movies everything guys dressed with class, today they walk around with there pants down to there knees with a hat on sideways. I just want to let you that I am very happy that somebody thinks like me and understands whats happening to this country. The Hippie liberals of the 60s have killed this nation, we go from the Donna Reed show to Jersey Shore that should sum up the direction of this country. I just feel depressed and out of place sometimes... Just want to Thank You for telling how it is.
Sincerely Jimmy from Long island
Although I have a few disagreements with you, such as on protectionism, I generally agree with your politics. I am surprised, though, that one as educated as yourself would say that "separation of church and state" is a constitutional principle. The First Amendment merely prohibits the federal government from establishing a state church. It is actually a one-way prohibition because it does not prohibit religious influence on the government. It is true, though, that Obama has overstepped his bounds in attempting to control a private entity such as the Catholic Church. He has no authority, other than what he has usurped.
America Needs More...
Dear Mr. Buchanan,
Please continue your writing in every venue available. Americans need to hear your truth. My sincere hope is that a broadcast network will have the courage to open a venue for your wisdom. This year is critical; we need your thoughts and analysis front and center.
"The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones." -- William Faulkner God bless you, sir.
I have been a fan of all your books and have watched you on TV throughout the years. One of my favorite routines is getting ready every morning to the political news of the day and I started watching Morning Joe just because you were on a frequent guest on the show. If you are not going to be on there for the 2012 political season, I am going to switch to another morning show. Are you going to another network? Where can I find you? I love your political commentary. Thanks.

In praise of
Pat, You are the most courageous political commentator of our time and are invariably right. Keep up the good work.
Well, I Guess That Answers My Question
I was wondering where you\'d been . . . Hadn\'t seen you on MSNBC for some time. I don\'t know what all the fuss is about, but I will miss you if you don\'t get whatever it is ironed out. I\'m a far-left liberal, Democrat. Still, I enjoyed hearing your opinions and arguments. You are/were thoughtful, literate and had unique insight. And that\'s from someone who didn\'t often agree with you! I hope to see you again soon, but if you can\'t work out the issue, you will be sorely missed.
Good health and long life to you,
Should be a Text book!
Your new book Suicide... is fantastic, I haven't always agreed with your perspectives because I felt that they have been a really hard sell, but after reading Suicide... I have a whole new perspective on things, those of us that now share your perspectives should come together in conference (think tank) to discuss how to push this forward because NOW they must be sold! I hope it isn't to late.
