Crashing Phoenix: Why Rudy’s Got it Wrong

As America enters the stretch-run of the 2008 primaries, memories of the September 11th terrorist attacks are still fresh in the minds of voters across the nation. Yet amidst the destruction and pain caused by the attacks, a hero emerged: Rudy Guliani. At a time when Americans needed it the most, hope appeared on the horizon, as a phoenix rose from the ashes of the twin towers. The New York City mayor responded with tremendous strength in the aftermath of the attacks, ultimately leading the city-and the nation- through the one of the most difficult times in our nation’s history. America vowed to never forget that day. And Rudy Guliani became immortalized for his heroics.
